Public Beaches of 30A

The short answer is...kinda? There are communuties where you HAVE to be staying in the neigborhoods to have access to their beaches. These communites are WaterColor, Seaside, Watersound, Seacrest (proper,) Alys, and Rosemary.

The accesses there may require a code to use and most of them don't have parking, anyway. There is a public access in Seaside (kind've) at the main pavillion near Bud and Alley's that many people use for a quick stroll, but if you're looking to post up and have a beach day, the closest is going to be at Van Ness Butler between WaterColor and Seaside.

In what we call "Old Seacrest," the part that doesn't have access to the Lagood Pool located between Prominence and Alys, there are neighboor hood accesses, but no Regional Beach accesses. So what's the difference?h

Regional Beach Accesses

Regional Beach Accesses (RBAs) are available in South Walton. You can tell them apart because they have parking, bathrooms, and ramps for wheelchair access. These are the truly public accesses.

Neighborhood Accesses

No matter where you're stayig on 30A, it's likely there's a neighborhood access close by. Again, if you're visiting any of the above mentioned neigborhoods with private accesses, in a way, those private accesses are your neighborhood accesses. The difference is, the public neigborhood access will never have a code. However, there's often no parking, and sometimes no bike racks.
